Northlake Stewardship District
The Northlake Stewardship District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 2022-248 of the Laws of Florida and established on June 24, 2022 as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The land within the District currently consists of approximately 26,626 acres and is generally located south of State Road 62, north of University Parkway and State Road 70 E, east of Ft. Hamer Road and Lakewood Ranch Blvd, and west of Wauchula Road.
Specifically. the District shall have the power to plan, establish. acquire. construct or reconstruct, enlarge or extend. equip, operate and maintain additional systems and facilities.

The Northlake Stewardship District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 2022-248 of the Laws of Florida, established on June 24, 2022.
The jurisdiction of the district, in the exercise of its general and special powers, and in the carrying out of its special and limited purpose, is both within the external boundaries of the legal description of this district and extraterritorially when limited to, and as authorized expressly elsewhere in, the charter of the district as created in this act or applicable general law. This special and limited purpose district is created as a public body corporate and politic, and local government authority and power is limited by its charter, this act, and subject to other general laws, including chapter 189, Florida Statutes, except that an inconsistent provision in this act shall control and the district has jurisdiction to perform such acts and exercise such authorities, functions, and powers as shall be necessary, convenient, incidental, proper, or reasonable for the implementation of its special and limited purpose regarding the sound planning, provision, acquisition, development, operation, maintenance, and related financing of those public systems, facilities, services, improvements, projects, and infrastructure works as authorized herein, including those necessary and incidental thereto. The district shall only exercise any of its powers extraterritorially within Manatee County after execution of an interlocal agreement between the district and Manatee County consenting to the district’s exercise of any such powers Manatee County or an applicable development order or as part of other land development regulations issued by Manatee County.
